Hoffenheim enter this game as the only side to win their last three Bundesliga fixtures. They look set to continue that run here as they take on Paderborn, a team they’ve never conceded a goal against in four league H2Hs (W3, D1), winning both previous home meetings by a 1-0 scoreline via a second-half winner.
However, the hosts struggle with clean sheets, recording just two this Bundesliga campaign. They’ll be keen to register the first goal then, and have done so in four of the five games that they’ve found the net this league season (W4, D1). Three of their victories saw them concede an equaliser before netting the winner after the 75th minute.
Paderborn registered their first Bundesliga win this term last time out, in a game that also saw them register a first clean sheet and net a first-half opener for the fourth time this season (W1, D1, L2). The last time Paderborn kept consecutive league clean sheets was in April 2018!
The visitors scored three of those opening goals by the 12th minute, and have now scored in eight of their nine league games. However, Paderborn have also conceded a league-high 2.44 goals per fixture so far.
Players to watch: Returning from injury, Andrej Kramarić (HOF) has hit two goals in two games – one was a second-half opener. Meanwhile, Abdelhamid Sabiri scored his first Bundesliga goal for Paderborn last time out, in what was his first start.
Stat attack: Hoffenheim have scored eight of their 11 league goals in the second half, with four coming in the last 15 minutes.
Hoffenheim are yet to score a first-half league goal at home (HT: D1, L3).
Seven of Paderborn’s nine Bundesliga games have produced over 2.5 goals.
Paderborn have conceded six of their nine away Bundesliga goals in the first 15 minutes of both halves.
