Brescia finally snapped their six-game losing streak in Serie A (SA) by beating Spal away (1-0), in turn keeping their fourth cleansheet this season. That was only their third league win (D1, L10), all of which came via a 1-0 scoreline, which was also the result of the last competitive H2H won by Lecce in April.
‘Le Rondinelle’ have won only one point at home this SA season (D1, L5), netting just once in the last four outings here, while conceding nine goals during this run (D1, L3). Despite their poor home record, Brescia have only been down at half-time on three occasions after scoring four of their five SA home goals in the first period. Subsequently, they’ve lost two games after leading at half-time on the back of conceding 60% (nine) of their goals against in the second half.
Lecce have lost just once in their last eight league matches (W1, D6), with four of their six stalemates ending 2-2, the last two of which saw them score two second-half goals to recover from 2-0 down.
The visitors have won eleven of their 15 (73.33%) SA points on the road (W3, D2, L3), but have conceded at least three goals in each of the losses. Lecce have also opened the scoring in five away matches this season (62.5%), losing just once after doing so (W3, D1).
Players to watch: Mario Balotelli (BRE) netted the winner last time out; all three of his SA goals this season have arrived after the break.
Back after a two-game ban, Gianluca Lapadula (LEC) has netted in his four prior SA matches, with three of those four goals arriving before the break.
Stat attack: Only one team scored in Brescia’s last four SA matches (W1, L3).
Seven of Lecce’s nine away competitive matches this season have seen both teams score.
Both teams have scored just twice before the break in the aforementioned fixtures.
