- A 2-1 loss at Lens may have given Bordeaux their first defeat of the new Ligue 1 (L1) season (W1, D2, L1) and saw them concede the opening goal for the first time this term, but a rather worrying trend unites all four of their opening matches. All four games witnessed under 8.5 shot attempts by Bordeaux, and subsequently their combined total of 24 shots so far is the worst of any team after matchday four across the previous seven L1 seasons.
- It’ll come as little surprise then that the hosts have scored over 1.5 team goals in just one of their previous seven L1 home games (D5, L2). In fact Bordeaux have netted just one goal across the last five H2Hs held here (D4, L1).
- Two defeats in their last two games – both of which saw Nice trail at HT – will have dampened the visitors’ spirits going into this clash. They’ve now conceded the opener in five of their last six L1 matches, but did manage to come back and claim points in three (W2, D1).

- Hot stat: Bordeaux’s last three L1 home wins, and their last four top-flight H2H home wins, all saw them score in both halves.
